Work Orders

  • Create work orders in the field from inspections to fix leaks to prevent water loss and contamination. Manage testing of backflow prevention devices to protect water supply from contamination.
  • Show required fields in red. Take before and after photos of a leak repair to document the work completed, which can be in back office systems.
  • Schedule, track and record when new meters are installed, or faulty or outdated ones are replaced.
  • Add centimeter-level positional accuracy of asset locations to records by incorporating high accuracy mobile GNSS receivers into your workflows.

Maintaining vertical assets

Auto populate attributes from the GIS

  • Extend mobile inspections and work orders to the vertical assets in your treatment plants, and elsewhere.
  • Assets and the nested related GIS objects can be attached simply by scanning the bar code of the asset.
  • Work with the specific relationship rules you’ve set for assets in the GIS to ensure the integrity of the relationship rules you’ve established for assets in your GIS is maintained.
  • Attributes of map features can be pulled from the GIS and auto-populated into a work order or inspection.

  • You don’t need outboard devices to scan your codes for materials in Storerooms and assets in the field. Our bar code scanning works for work orders, service requests, inspections and any custom field in Cityworks.
  • Capture digital signatures on mobile devices for inspections, authorizations and other processes. Attach digital signatures to a Cityworks record.
  • Select materials/equipment from a list via barcode scan when adding material or equipment to ELM costs. The material is then automatically selected and added to the ELM costs of a work order.
  • Universal custom fields can be setup to capture data from a barcode scan.

Inspections

  • An individual inspection or work order is automatically created for each selected asset, which can then be edited or closed in the field.
  • Child work orders, or child inspections, can be created from each of the inspections.
  • Create a child inspection, or child work order, from an existing inspection record, if needed.
  • Either linear or branching inspections can be used when selecting multiple assets on a mobile map.
  • If your workflow needs it, users can view a GIS asset’s legacy ID value on the inspection create, update, and details pages. This value is displayed alongside the asset entity’s UID value.
